Many highly effective "low-tech" ways to assess your interests, skills, and accomplishments exist that will give you increased self-knowledge, confidence, and clarity. These range from counseling sessions to writing exercises that zero in on who you really are. We also use values assessment that many clients report are particularly useful in making good decisions.
Vocational and personality instruments, such as the Strong Interest Inventory or the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, are particularly valuable for providing objective feedback on interests and preferences, and these are available.
We also assess barriers such as self-defeating attitudes and behaviors, family conflicts, and self-concept. The goal here is to look at what has worked and what hasn't for you in the past, and to consider new possibilities.
